Push the new site live without breaking SEO or CRO, then consolidate the touchpoints. One front door, same systems behind it.

GEM has no FDA/FTC gate — not a launch blocker.    The redirect map is the launch gate: e4l.com replaces a ranking site, so every old page must point to its new home before we flip.
Phase 0
Get launch-ready
Nothing public yet. This is the safety work.
  • Turn on search visibility (robots)
  • Add legal pages (privacy, terms, cookie, returns)
  • Turn on the site navigation
  • Build the redirect map + test it on a private preview
Owner: Michael + legal review + dev (repo/DNS)  ·  Risk: low
Phase 1
Go live (the overlay)
The switch. Fast and reversible.
  • Flip e4l.com to the new build
  • Behind the tested redirects
  • Low DNS setting, ~1-week rollback kept warm
  • Watch search coverage for 72 hours
Users: one better, on-brand site; old links still work  ·  Risk: low if Phase 0 done
Phase 2
Consolidate touchpoints
Over the following weeks. No pressure.
  • Retire info.e4l.com (301 into e4l.com)
  • shop.e4l.com becomes checkout-only
  • Close the tracking seam (site → Shopify tag)
  • Warehouse also reads Portal sales
Users: invisible  ·  Owner: Michael + Shreyas (data feed)
Leadership's question, answered
No page we already rank for gets lost
The new site replaces pages Google already sends us traffic to. Every one is found and re-homed 1:1 before we flip. This is the launch's most important safety step, and it is a defined process, not a hope.
1
Inventory every live page
Google Analytics + a full site crawl. The complete list of what exists and what earns traffic.
2
Map each old page 1:1 to its new home
An old-address → new-address list. No page without a destination.
3
Test on a private preview
Every old link must resolve to a live page. Zero dead ends, checked before anyone sees it.
4
Only then flip
Go live with a rollback kept warm and search coverage watched for 72 hours.
